Alleged illegal sand extraction reported in Candijay

Police arrested a 49-year-old man after he was accused of illegally extracting sand in the town on Tuesday, reports said.

The suspect was identified as Potenciano Huiso, 49, married of barangay Poblacion, Alicia.

Police responded to a report that sand was being extracted at barangay Tubod in Candijay.

Upon verification by police, the sand extraction activity had no permit and other papers supporting the legal extraction of sand.

The suspect were taken into custody as a case will be filed shortly.
