Driver sideswipes, kills pedestrian

A pedestrian was sideswiped and killed in a traffic incident yesterday in Catigbian town, reports said.

Police took into custody the suspect identified as Mark Lloiud Ubanon, 18, and his motorcycle.

Initial investigation revealed Ubanon was driving his motorcycle from Catigbian public market and moving towards Cortes town. As Ubanon was traveling he accidentally hit a pedestrian.

The victim was identified as Feleciana Domingo, 84, and a resident of purok 8, barangay Poblacion Weste, Catigbian.

Due to the impact, the victim sustained severe trauma and was rushed to a nearby hospital.

However, reports said, the victim was declared dead upon arrival.
